A MOTHER'S NIGHTMATE
ABOUT THE BOOK
As a mother, my deepest instinct is to protect my children. My worst nightmare became a reality when they were sent to prison. When I heard the words “capital punishment,” my world went silent. I watched as my sons were hauled away; back to lockup. What do I do now?
A Mother’s Nightmare is Susan Glover’s deeply personal story of loving her sons through incarceration and facing the unimaginable fear of losing them forever. This book explores the emotional journey of a mother navigating the justice system, the pain of separation, and the strength found in unconditional love.
This is a story of survival, faith, and the belief that a mother’s love can still be a saving grace; even in the darkest moments.

About The Author
Susan Glover is a best-selling author, devoted mother, and powerful voice for families navigating the criminal justice system. Originally from Rochester New York, she writes from lived experience, resilience, and an unshakable love for her children.
As a mother of three sons who were all incarcerated, Susan faced a reality no parent ever prepares for. A Mother’s Nightmare was born from that journey. In this deeply personal memoir, Susan shares the emotional toll of having children in the system, the silent battles mothers fight behind closed doors, and the power of unconditional love in the darkest moments.
She wrote this book not only to tell her story, but to reach other mothers walking a similar path; women who may feel alone, ashamed, or overwhelmed. Susan’s message is clear: you are not alone, and your love still matters.
Through her writing, Susan hopes to inspire resilience, faith, and courage in families facing unimaginable challenges.

When I tell you I could not put this book down once I began reading it, I truly couldn’t. This is not just the testimony of a mother—it is the testimony of her strength, her unwavering love, and her resilience. Despite facing many challenges and adverse conditions as a mom, she remained steadfast and strong. Even while navigating her own health challenges, she continued to show up for her son, her family, and those she loves.
What I appreciated most is that she never turned away from supporting her children, grandchildren, and family. Instead, she remained faithful and consistent, standing firm with the help of the Lord. This book is inspiring, heartfelt, and deeply moving. It is truly a great read, and I would absolutely recommend it.

I did not intend to read the entire book at once. From the beginning it captured my attention and I didn’t want to put it down. For one person to go through as much as she did with her family and still continue to love unconditionally is remarkable. It proved when you are rooted in God, winds may blow, storms may come and you may bend but you will not break. I know this is not the end and can’t wait for the next book.
