If you are reading this, there is a reason.

I never imagined I would one day write a book like A Mother’s Nightmare. Like most mothers, my greatest instinct has always been to protect my children. When my three sons were incarcerated, I was forced to face a reality that no parent is prepared for. The day I heard the words “capital punishment,” my world changed forever.

There were moments of fear. Moments of anger. Moments of deep silence where I questioned everything. But through it all, one thing never wavered; my love for my sons.

I wrote this book for the mothers who cry quietly at night. For the women who sit in courtrooms holding their breath. For the parents who feel judged, misunderstood, or alone. I wrote it because I know the weight of loving a child through the justice system and the strength it takes to keep standing.

This is not just my story; it is ours.

My hope is that these pages remind you that your love is powerful. That resilience is born in the hardest places. And that even in the darkest moments, hope can still exist.

You are not alone.

With love,

Susan Glover
